Meet Recap and other Notes
Meet Recap
Thank you everyone for making our last home meet a successful one! This week we faced off against two of the largest teams in the league with a combined 340+ swimmers, both of which are full of year-round swimmers. The Sharks is one of the smallest teams in the league and we put up a strong fight. We are proud of what our swimmers accomplished. In fact, today we broke 14 Sharks team records!
It will take a few days to merge our results with Julington Creek (virtual) and the results will be posted shortly thereafter.
Grammy awards speech moment... I wanted to personally thank all of our wonderful volunteers that stepped it up big time over the past two home meets. Dawn Huntzinger, Amy Blomberg, Heather Wildermuth, Melissa Lime, Raul Gomez, and so many more... thanks for being extremely reliable and stepping up to take care of business. Ryan Stone has been a phenomenal announcer/starter as usual. Announcers have a tough job because they have to keep the meets moving in an organized fashion and on-time. Thanks to the Craffords for handling the thankless job of parking management. We are still a young team and are in the process of proving ourselves to the CDD and parking management is one of the biggest sticking points behind the scenes and the Craffords have done a fantastic job. Also, big thanks to Jeremy Vanorny for helping the Sharks pioneer meet technology into the modern day. We are one of the only teams in the league that is progressing toward fully digital meet results in real time and Jeremy is a big reason for that.
No Practice July 4th Weekend
No practice next Saturday! Enjoy the holiday weekend! We will see you all in Murabella on July 9 when we face off against the WGV Fighting Turtles and (virtually) RiverTown Riptides. Fins Up!
