Shearwater Shark Program Director
Good Morning Shark Family!
The Shearwater Sharks are exciting to dive into our 3rd season! We will open registration on March 1st. Please be on the lookout for an email in the next few days with more information.
As we stated at the End of the Year Banquet last July, we are developing from a swim team into a swim program. One of our first actions in the effort to bring on board Ms. Viktoriya Liesmanas to serve as our Program Director.
Viktoriya began her swimming journey in Russia soon after turning 6 years old. By the age of 14, she became the Siberian State champion and record holder in the 1500 Freestyle, 800 Freestyle, and 200 Butterfly. By the age of 16 she was a Russian Championship qualifier and finalist.
After moving to the US at age of 18, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut where she was a scholarship swimmer at the NCAA Division II school.
Viktoriya moved to Shearwater last summer with her husband and 5 kids. She has over twelve years of experience as an operations specialist with one of the world’s leading commodity trading company, but swimming has always been her passion.
Viktoriya is thrilled to be able to channel her great passion for swimming to help the coaches and children enjoy and improve the training process. Her goal is to have kids leave the practice with a bigger smile than they started with, and she is honored to be part of the Shearwater Sharks Swim Team.
Viktoriya will lead the Junior Coaching program and serve as a mentor and collaborator to Coach Amelia, Coach Nick and Coach Hayden. Please give a big Shearwater Shark welcome to Viktoriya!
