    Last Chance to Give

    Good afternoon Parents,

Thanks to everyone that was able to participate for a great Champs meet. Coach Bright will provide results as soon as they're finalized.

We have one last opportunity to give to the Shawn Delifus Foundation. The drive ends at noon on Tuesday the 16th.  We are $260 short of our $2,000 team goal. Use this link to GIVE. This is tax deductible and for a great cause, see below. Thanks and hope to see everyone on August 6th at the End of Year Banquet!

    What

This year we get another opportunity to serve the Shawn Delifus Foundation. This foundation provides swim lessons for children who cannot afford them. The Foundation has been able to help more than 1,300 children learn how to swim in Jacksonville, primarily through small dollar donations. We have the opportunity to fund 130 open spots this August for a 7-week swim lesson program. To do this, we as a league need to raise $9,100.

    How

Here is the link to Cheddar Up GIVE.  Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 and we can reach our league goal. Shawn Delifus Foundation is a 501c3 so your donations are tax deductible.

    When

We have until just after the Champs meet (July13-14) to do this. Cash donations and/or goggle donations will be accepted in person at Champs

    Why

Shawn Delifus Foundation provides swim lessons to children living in poverty in inner city Jacksonville who otherwise couldn't afford to learn to swim. The mother of Shawn, Joyce Delifus recently attended the funeral of a 7 year old little girl who drowned at a pool party (article below) because she couldn't swim. Joyce saw all the other little 6 and 7 year olds sitting around the casket and she asked them to raise their hand if they knew how to swim. Not a hand went up. Joyce proceeded to sign these kids up for swim lessons. We can make a difference in this world and this is one way to do it. Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus and fully fund the August swim lessons. 7 Year Old Drowning News Article
