We will be hosting a parent information session inside the Shearwater Kayak Club this Saturday, March 2nd from 10am-11am . A second information session will be held on March 23rd from 10am-11am. We will discuss practices, meets. swimmer and parent expectations, and answer any questions you may have. Please encourage any families that are interested in joining the team to attend.

All new swimmers will be required to attend a new swimmer evaluation. Swimmers are expected to swim at least one length of the pool unassisted. Generally, swimmers ages 9 and up are expected to swim two lengths of the pool for both freestyle and backstroke.

New Swimmer Evaluations will be held at the Shearwater Lap pool on the following dates:

• Saturday April 13th 2pm-4pm
• Saturday April 20th 2pm-4pm

  Practice will begin on Monday, April 22nd. As in past seasons, the coaches will be breaking swimmers up into 3 practice groups. These groups may be adjusted due to the number of swimmers that register or as coaches feel a swimmer would benefit from working with a different grou3pmp.

Practices will be offered 4 days a week in the Shearwater Lap Pool. In response to parents’ requests, we will have 2 morning practices and 2 evening practices each week once school is out. As your schedule allows, swimmers are encouraged to attend up to 4 practice sessions a week. We understand the summer is a busy and fun time for many families, and thus there is no minimum practice requirement.

Pre-Summer Practice Hours: April 22nd – May 24th:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

• 5:00 – 5:45pm – Group 1 Ages 4-7
• 5:45 – 6:45pm – Group 2 Ages 8-10
• 6:45 – 8:00pm – Group 3 Ages 11+

Summer Practice Hours: May 28th – July 11th:

Monday & Tuesday

• 4:00 – 4:45pm – Group 1 Ages 4-7
• 4:45 – 5:45pm – Group 2 Ages 8-10
• 5:45 – 7:00pm – Group 3 Ages 11+

Tuesday & Thursday

• 7:15– 8:00am – Group 1 Ages 4-7
• 8:00 – 9:00am – Group 2 Ages 8-10
• 9:00 – 10:00am – Group 3 Ages 11+
